The bike park is the newest addition to the Albuquerque Academy campus and the Experiential Education program. The Academy bike park was designed as a pump track with features such as rollers, berms, tabletops and jumps that increase students’ bike skills and confidence. While bike parks are fun on their own, the skills learned translate well to mountain bike trails.
The Academy makes the bike park accessible to all students. We have plenty of bike park-specific bikes, helmets, and protective pads for student use. Bike park activities are open to students of all abilities.
The bike park was built in-house by Ex Ed faculty in 2020-2021, with input from and collaboration with student riders. The Academy is one of only two schools in the US (as of January, 2021) to have a bike park on campus! Ex Ed hopes to have a core group of students who ride and maintain the bike park, and help teach and mentor younger students.
Thank you to our philanthropic donors for their generous contributions! We genuinely appreciate their support and enthusiasm, which has been instrumental in making the bike park accessible to everyone.
